DONALD

JOHN

TRUMP

Donald Trump was born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York. Trump’s father, Fred Trump, was a prominent real estate developer in New York. His mother, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump, was a Scottish-American and a philanthropist.

For high school, Trump attended New York Military Academy, where he was the captain of the baseball team. He then went on to graduate from the Wharton undergraduate school at the University of Pennsylvania in 1968.

Trump's father died in 1999 and his mother in 2000. One of his brothers died in 1981 after struggling with an alcohol addiction, and another recently passed away on August 15, 2020.

Trump has been married three times, first to Ivana Trump in 1977, then to Marla Maples in 1993, and finally Melania Trump in 2005. Trump has five children from the three marriages, the oldest being born in 1977 and the youngest being born in 2006.

Trump gained most of his wealth from real estate, but he’s also written a book called The Art of the Deal, and hosted a successful reality TV show called The Apprentice.

There is still uncertainty about Trump’s actual net-worth, as he has refused to release his tax returns, but Forbes values the Trump empire at $2.5 billion. This was brought up consistently in the 2016 debates and has continued to circulate in the media as a main criticism of Trump. In fact, since (and before) his election Trump has been surrounded in controversy. Just to name a few instances, in 2005 he started a for-profit school called “Trump University,” which has been accused of stealing from its students; he was accused of allowing the Russians to meddle in the election; and he called Baltimore a “rat and rodent-infested mess.” After apparently losing his re-election on November 7, 2020, Trump has not conceded and has announced he will organize a legal team to challenge the predicted result. To read about Trump’s previous and current positions, votes, and bills, click HERE.
